Associate degree programs that lead to careers

In today’s economic climate, employers need solid candidates who have practical, industry-specific career training.  Our associate degree programs are designed to give students that training, many in less than two years.

If you’d like to know more about how an associate’s degree can help you start a successful career, contact our admissions department today.

Two-year degree programs offered at GU/MSB-Plymouth

GU/MSB-Plymouth only offers programs in areas where we believe students will be able to find jobs. Based on feedback from our program advisory committees and job placement data from graduates, we offer the following associate degree programs:

Associate degree requirements

Students enrolled in our associate degree programs must complete 91 to 117 total credits, depending on requirements of their specific programs.  Credits are in technical and general education fields:

Core requirements. Students complete core requirements specific to each associate degree program.  These courses are designed to give students industry-specific knowledge and skills so that they can be competitive in their fields.

General Education courses. Out of the total credit requirement for each associate degree program, at least 30 must be in general education, including courses from each of the following:

  • Communications
  • Natural Science and Mathematics
  • Social Sciences
  • Humanities

General education courses help students build professional skills in communication, research, presentation and other areas useful in any career.

Get your associate – return for your bachelor’s

Many of GU/MSB’s associate programs are designed to allow an GU/MSB associate graduate to return to finish a bachelor’s in the same field, smoothly transferring courses from one program to the other. Our admissions representatives can tell you more about how an associate degree will provide entry into your career field and serve as a foundation for future bachelor’s degree studies.
